Ciampoli Palace is situated in the medieval heart of Taormina, in the area bounded by ancient Porta Catania and the Clock Tower, Piazza IX Aprile. It is a noble palace in the Catalan Gothic style built in 1412, as reflected in this incision above the main entrance. The palace was the residence of the Ciampoli family until it was not bought by the Sicilian Region with the intention, at least at first, to make it an ethno-anthropological museum. The building, after several restorations between 1989 and 2008, aimed at the commissioning of the structure safety, and one last work of restructuring in 2013, is now home to a museum.
